Provide volunteer search and rescue operations to assist government agencies and the general public in locating and rescuing missing or injured persons, and rendering emergency assistance to authorized law enforcement or emergency service agencies; Train volunteer responders in search and rescue techniques, first aid, emergency management, and related disciplines to ensure a competent and response-ready force; Educate the public regarding wilderness safety, emergency preparedness, and the responsible use of public lands.
